Caliber 25-35. Full mag, crescent butt. Tang mounted Lyman rear sight, blank in the bbl dovetail, metal is an antique looking blue brown with a couple of spots that have been cleaned, mostly on the mag tube. This gun is equipped with a full length mag tube, crescent butt and extra figured wood. Pretty much a gray brown on receiver and take down ring, bbl is blue drifting towards plummish, dark bore that may clean up and unfortunately there are two extra holes on the left hand side of the receiver. Full oct bbl, full mag, crescent butt. Nice cond old rifle with 60%+ blue on receiver especially on the left hand side-very nice, most bbl blue although thinning and some wear at the edges of the octagons. Bbl is equipped with a Marbles rear sight, Lyman front and a Lyman tang. Nice bright shiny bore on this antique. Wood is in VG cond for a gun this age; there's one crack on the right hand side at the bottom towards the trigger, no missing wood or cracks on the forearm. 120,XXX range. A fact sheet from the Cody Museum lists this gun exactly as it is only it originally was a 25-35; gun was returned to the factory 4 or 5 times and it is now listed as a 30-30, extra lightweight, pistol grip, take down, half mag. Overall gun has been refinished, I assume, at the factory to the configuration it is now and retains most the refinished blue; fine wood, shotgun butt, sharp checkering, exc bore, Beaches combination hooded front sight, Lyman tang sight. A couple extra holes on the side of the receiver, probably for a 56 Lyman side mount sight. Interesting little gun, should make a great shooter.

The case hardened receiver shows a fair amount of age, retains probably 90% vivid case colors and has been engraved with a buck deer in an oval on the left side and a ram head very nicely done on the opposite side; the rest of the rec is done in delicate scroll pattern engraving, some engraving on the bbl and on the muzzle end. Bbl and mag have been refinished and are in exc cond with sharp corners, exc markings, all refinish remaining. Complete with double set triggers, interesting little gun. This gun has a full mag and in kind of a strange configuration, there is a saddlering stud. Medium brown receiver, bbl finish has some blue remaining but has drifted to an antique looking patina. Wood has got a replacement rear stock off a later 94, forearm wood is orig and has a severe crack all the way through which has been repaired but still very visible. King rear and post type front sights, a rather dark bore which may clean up to be somewhat decent. This gun does have a few issues but is very fairly priced. e

Caliber 30-30. According to the Factory records, this gun was shipped as a receiver product to the customer for engraving. After the customer received it and engraved it, he sent it back to Winchester to have it made into a pistol grip checkered plain walnut stock gun with a 26" half oct bbl, button mag. Beaches folding combination front and Lyman tang sights. Factory records also indicate that it was, at that time, nickel plated on the receiver, lever, buttplate and forend cap. Very interesting gun; very possibly one-of-a-kind as I've never seen or heard of another one where Winchester sent out the receiver to have it engraved by the customer, had it sent back to them and then installed features on the gun that the customer requested.
