Wood is in generally good cond although the finish has wrinkled, stock is in good cond with no losses, a very skilled strengthening repair in the wrist area which is hardly noticable. Overall gun looks great; appears to have been used out in the frontier: it's got a rawhide leather strap around the back of the buttstock to be used as a sling and a mark on the bbl where another rawhide strap had been attached. Overall metal is an aged plum brown coloration and has seen a lot of use with a fair amount of neglect but appears to be very much untouched; complete with double set triggers. No doubt this gun has seen alot of frontier use by buffalo hunters and such. Wood has been cleaned but is sound and solid with possibly an old age crack at the wrist. It appears to have been a standard full stock rifle, its forearm shortened, brass ramrod pipes added, a percussion insert is now in the breech-the block has been milled to allow use of a percussion nipple; 35 rifled barrel, flip-up ramp/folding rear sight.
