Photo View: (M-125-12-513) VERY INTERESTING GERMAN COMBINATION PERCUSSION RIFLE/SHOTGUN
58 Caliber rifle barrel and 20 Gauge shotgun barrel. Early manufacture probably dating back to about 1800. I believe this was originally started as a flintlock but before manufacture was completed, they utilized a percussion style ignition system because the safety device is utilizing the flint frizzen springs which come into play in front of the hammers when they are at full cock. Fine little gun marked ‘I. Eitel’ on one lockplate; ‘A. Weilburg’ on the other. Superb condition with most all the original browning on the barrel, case colors on the lock have turned a little molten; superb wood featuring both incised and raised carving in a floral pattern done in the best manner. Heavy brass fixtures; carved wooden patchbox on the side of the stock that opens up-inside is a German newspaper dated 1866. Excellent+ inside & out.
A $ 3,650
