Photo View: (5166-14-96) INTERESTING 1885 LOW WALL WINCHESTER FACTORY TEST RIFLE

Used as an ammunition testing rifle at the factory. 22 SHORT caliber, 23-1/2" round #1 barrel is hand-stamped "3-19-38." Of course bore has seen a lot of use, but it is still bright. No provisions for a forearm, has marks on stock and metal consistent with being clamped down to a bench. 90% blue on left side of frame, right side is 75% blue with wear marks, barrel has 80% blue with localized wear patterns. Rifle buttplate. Would make an interesting display piece for the low wall or ammo collector. Factory letter states it was shipped in 1901, then repaired and returned in 1908, 1909 and 1910.
